Purchaser’s Firm Offer Checklist

  • Obtain a copy of the updated Agreement of Purchase and sale from your agent, including all amendments, deletions, financing letters etc.
  • Contact your lawyer and let them know your contract is now firm
    • It is the Vendor’s real estate agency’s responsibility to send the contract to your lawyer, but it is a good idea to send your own documents to your lawyer (or have your agent send them) to ensure no documents were missed and they have the most up to date records
      • It is also a good idea to find out who in the law office is assigned to work on your file day to day and add that person’s contact information to your records
  • Ensure your finance professional has received all changes, deletions and /or additions to the contract since it was originally sent to them
    • Send the contract personally and let your agent know, or have your agent send it
  • If there are leases to be assumed (ex. Propane tank), contact the leasing company and get the applications completed
  • If this is a property you are moving to, request a copy of EXIT Realty PEI’s Moving Checklist
